APPEARANCE, ODOR AND COLOR: These products are odorless, solid rods that have a metallic luster , which may have
a flux coating.
HOW TO DETECT THIS SUBSTANCE (warning properties): The appearance is a distinctive characteristic of these
products.
10. STABILITY and REACTIVITY
STABILITY: Stable.
DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS:
BARE RODS: Metal oxides.
COATED RODS: Metal oxides, boric anhydride, fluoride compounds, and hydrogen fluoride.
MATERIALS WITH WHICH SUBSTANCE IS INCOMPATIBLE: Strong acids, strong oxidizers, acetylene, halogenated
hydrocarbons, halogens, ammonium nitrate, sulfur, potassium, alkali carbonates, alkali hydroxides, glass, other silica-based
compounds.
HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION: Will not occur.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Avoid uncontrolled exposure to extreme temperatures, incompatible materials.
